Officers found two shell casings in a grass field and a 2017 Honda Accord with a bullet hole in the front passenger door as they responded to the shooting report in the 100 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard just after 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
The driver of the car was identified as the victim and told officers that he had gotten into a fight with the person of interest, pictured above, before someone shot at his car near Spruce Street and Irvine Turner Boulevard, O’Hara said.
The person was last seen on the corner of 18th Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard and makes frequent trips to the area, police said.
No injuries were reported in the shooting, authorities said.
